Coffee. What picture comes to mind? “I picture people enjoying conversation AlneHartog_inlinewhile sipping coffee in the comfort of their home,” says Alne Hartog, ladies’ luncheon speaker at the GARBC Conference. “I hear the chatter of friends catching up on each other’s lives, stories of the latest shenanigans of one’s child, news of encouraging report from the doctor or not-so-good news. Sometimes while I’ve been in a coffee shop with my sweetheart or with friends, I’ve seen tears of sorrow on cheeks as well as tears of laughter shared over coffee.”

How can the theme of coffee be incorporated into our lives as a connection and encouragement with each other? You will find out at the ladies’ luncheon on Tuesday, June 30. Hear Alne speak on “Coffee for Two . . . or Three? The Joy of Hospitality” and enjoy a time of connection and encouragement with other women. Tickets for the luncheon can be purchased at the registration desk during the week of the conference.

Alne is a wife of 228 months to her sweetheart, Paul, and a homeschool mama to their three blessings, Ethan Anthony (13), Stacia Lin (11), and Isaiah Johnathan (6). Her desire daily is to passionately love Jesus and her family with all her heart in a way that those looking on will know He is real!

She was an elementary school teacher for seven years in Illinois and served joyfully alongside her sweetheart for 17 years when he was a youth pastor and assistant pastor in three churches in Illinois and Iowa. Currently she is working as a part-time secretary in the Women’s Ministries Department at Faith Baptist Bible College, Ankeny, Iowa, where her sweetheart is a full-time faculty member in Humanities and vice president of academics.

Alne enjoys cooking, reading, playing her guitar, ministering to women and teen girls, having a blast with friends, and most of all, traveling with her sweetheart all over the world.
