The theme of this year’s GARBC Conference is “Proclaiming Christ from the Old Testament.” Jesus said in Matthew 5, “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.” Passages in the Old Testament like Genesis 3, Deuteronomy 18, 2 Samuel 7, Isaiah 7, Zachariah 14, Malachi 3, and many of the psalms are all prophetic statements speaking of the anointed One to come. When we turn to the New Testament, we find that that anointed One is the Messiah, Jesus Christ. I would like to invite you to be with us at our conference this summer in Oswego, Illinois, as we explore preaching these Old Testament prophecies in relationship to the person of Jesus Christ—to see His glory, to see His life, to see His ministry so that we might leave not just as informed people but as people who have been transformed by the glory of the gospel.
Daniel Davey is the keynote speaker for the 2016 GARBC Conference.
