Another day of excitement and fellowship ensued for the students at this year’s conference as they met Thursday at Soteria Church. After they kick-started their day with several games, Tyler Betz of ABWE ministered to them through God’s Word. Tyler spoke from Psalm 67 on “Worship through Prayer and Evangelism.” He stressed the need to pray intentionally and to use a variety of opportunities right where we are to engage in evangelism. Breakout sessions followed, as the students discussed Tyler’s message, reinforcing it and challenging themselves to put it into action. Before lunch, they enjoyed a round of minigolf, which fostered some friendly competition. After returning from their afternoon break, the students volunteered with Meals from the Heartland to pack meals for starving families across the world. The students were able to box more than 4,000 meals to be sent out. Afterward, they met back at Soteria for their next session, led by Steve Board of Maranatha Baptist University. Steve spoke on “Worship through Giving” from 2 Corinthians 8:1–10. He encouraged the students to go out of their way to give of their time and resources. The students closed their night around a campfire, making s’mores. The students displayed helpful and friendly attitudes toward one another throughout the day as they had fun and labored in ministry together.
