Conference Speakers

Interim National Rep of the GARBC

David E. Strope

David E. Strope serves as interim national representative of the GARBC. In this role, David shares God’s Word in church and ministry settings, counsels and encourages pastors and churches, provides assistance with pastoral placement, and mentors and trains pastors, all while championing the association’s doctrinal distinctives.

Prior to serving in this role, David was a pastor for 45 years in four New York Churches (Bethel Baptist Church, Jamestown; Calvary Baptist Church, Lockport; Regular Baptist Church [now Maple Avenue Baptist Church], Elmira; and Calvary Baptist Church, Norwich) and at Ankeny Baptist Church of Ankeny, Iowa.

In addition to his pastoral roles, David has served on the GARBC Council of 18, the Northeast Fellowship Council of 10, and the Iowa Association of Regular Baptist Churches Council of 10. He currently serves on the elected council of Baptist Mid-Missions, and has taught at Faith Baptist Bible College as an adjunct faculty member.

David and his wife, Debbie, both hail from Newark Valley, NY, and have three children, seven grandchildren, and two foster grandchildren.

Philip De Courcy

Philip De Courcy is pastor of Kindred Community Church in Anaheim, California, and teacher on the daily media program Know the Truth.

Philip was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, to Christian parents who instilled in him a love for the Lord Jesus Christ.

At sixteen years of age, Philip trusted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior.

Patrick Odle

In 2020, Patrick Odle became BMM's ninth president after 26 years of pastoral experience in Iowa and Ohio. He also served as Faith Baptist Bible College & Theological Seminary's Vice President of Enrollment and Student Life for three years. God developed his heart for missions through connections to BMM missionaries and Council members, along with numerous mission trips. Patrick and his wife, Ruth, have four adult children and two grandchildren.

Ryan Frank

Ryan Frank is a church planter who serves as lead pastor of Involve Church in Nampa, Idaho, which he helped start in 2015. “God does not want His children sitting on the sidelines. He wants them involved in the body of Christ, and Involve Church exists to involve people in an authentic relationship with Jesus Christ."

Chris Anderson

Chris Anderson was the founding pastor of Tri-County Bible Church in Madison, Ohio, where he pastored for 15 years. For 9 years after that, Chris pastored Killian Hill Baptist Church in Lilburn, Georgia, where by God’s grace, more than 10 families were launched into missions or church ministry. He now serves as Vice President of Global Opportunities at Biblical Ministries Worldwide. Click the icon below to learn more.

Clare Jewell

Clare Jewell has been married to his wife, Donna, for more than 40 years. They currently reside in Salem, Oregon. They have four daughters and 13 grandchildren scattered across the eastern portion of the United States.

Prior to joining with ABWE and the GARBC, Clare was the Senior Pastor of Lakewood Park Baptist Church in Auburn, Indiana, for more than 20 years. From 1988-1993, He was the Administrator of Grace Baptist Christian School.

Clare completed his BA in Pastoral Studies at Baptist Bible College in Clarks Summit, PA. He also earned a Master of Arts Degree in Social Sciences from Eastern Michigan University. Currently, Clare is in the final stage of completing a Doctor of Ministry degree in Strategic Leadership at Corban University.

Along with preaching and teaching, Clare loves to golf, hike, ski and cheer for the Michigan State Spartans!
