Students met Wednesday morning to play games, wake up, and prepare for the first of three services at the Students Alive! Conference held at Soteria Church in Des Moines.

Dan Best from Appalachian Bible College began the day speaking on “Worship through Service” from Matthew 25:14–30. Following Dan’s message, the students enjoyed snacks and prepared themselves for their next session, which was led by Greg Gosnell, associate pastor of Faith Baptist Church in Mason City, Iowa. Speaking on Colossians 3:16, he answered the question “Why Sing?”

After free time in the afternoon, students made their way to SkyZone Trampoline Park. They met back at Soteria for dinner and then played games, including 9 Square and GaGa Ball.

Several area youth groups joined the students for the third session, kicking off with a guys-versus-girls scavenger hunt. As the students prepared their hearts for the evening message, the youth group from Soteria Church led them in worship through song. Then Garrett Martin, representing Bob Jones University, spoke from Colossians 1:15–18 on “Christ Is Preeminent.”

To end their jam-packed day, the students ate ice cream bars and played games before parting for the night.
