John Greening reported to the attendees of the 2017 GARBC business meeting on Thursday, June 29, that he will be retiring as national representative of the association. The target date for the end of his tenure is June 2018, pending the approval of a new national representative by the voting messengers at the 2018 GARBC Conference. John began serving as national representative in 1996, making his 21-year tenure the longest in the office’s history. John says, “Daria and I are deeply grateful for this extraordinary privilege. I plan to keep my nose to the grindstone until reaching the finish line.”

The Council of Eighteen has formed a National Representative Search Committee, which has begun working on the process of finding the next national representative. A National Representative Search page has been created, which includes announcement letters, the GARBC National Representative Ministry Profile, a National Representative Survey/Comment form, information updates, and a list of search committee personnel.

David Strope, search committee chairman, states, “This plan is contingent not only on the diligent effort of the search committee, but also on the will of God! You are encouraged to share your appreciation with John and Daria for their 21 years of faithful ministry to our fellowship and to pray that God will give clear guidance to the search committee.”
