The morning worship session on Wednesday, June 25, the third day of the GARBC Conference, began with singing songs of the resurrection, setting the tone for a message that spoke to “The Heart of the Gospel: God’s Wrath Satisfied.”

Rich Van Heukelum, pastor of Shawnee Baptist Church, Shamong, N.J., delivered the message. Focusing on Romans 3:24–26, he addressed the meaning of propitiation and how Christ on the cross took the full wrath of God. He also referred to the story of Rahab, saying that even though Jericho was condemned, when Rahab asked to be saved, she was. We are all like Rahab, Van Heukelum pointed out. Even though we stand condemned, all we have to do is ask Christ to save us, and He will.

During the worship session guests were introduced to City View Baptist Church in Cleveland, the second of three church plants that are being highlighted this week. A video captured through sound and images the work in Cleveland neighborhoods by Pastor Ken Dockery, Pastor Bill Taylor, and their families.
