During a well-attended business meeting on June 30, voting messengers from GARBC churches elected the following members to the Council of Eighteen:

  • Mike Augsburger, Pastor – Willow Creek Baptist Church, West Des Moines, Iowa
  • Tim Capon, Representative – Iowa Association of Regular Baptist Churches, Ankeny, Iowa
  • Will Hatfield, Pastor – CrossRoad Baptist Church, Ames, Iowa
  • Mike Hess, Pastor – Calvary Baptist Church, Mount Pleasant, Iowa
  • Scott Poling, Pastor – Harvest New Beginnings, Oswego, Illinois
  • Ken Spink, Pastor – Berea Baptist Church, Berea, Ohio

The newly elected men join those currently serving on the Council of Eighteen:

  • Tom Alexander, Pastor – First Baptist Church, Wellington, Ohio
  • Bryan Augsburger, Pastor – First Baptist Church, Arlington Heights, Illinois
  • David Burman Jr., Pastor – First Baptist Church, Niles, Ohio
  • Duke Crawford, Pastor – Emmanuel Baptist Church, Toledo, Ohio
  • Sam Farlow, Pastor – Westwood Baptist Church, Fresno, California
  • Ken Floyd, Executive Director – Michigan Association of Regular Baptist Churches, Grand Rapids, Michigan
  • David King, Pastor – CrossPoint Fellowship Church, Jasper, Indiana
  • Stan Lightfoot III, Pastor – Rustic Hills Baptist Church, Colorado Springs, Colorado
  • Chuck Pausley, Pastor – Bethany Baptist Church, Avon Park, Florida
  • Don Shirk, Pastor – Grace Baptist Church, Batavia, New York

Immediately following the introduction of the 2015–16 Council of Eighteen during the GARBC Conference Tuesday evening main session, council members elected the following officers:

  • Chairman – Ken Floyd
  • Vice-chairman – Ken Spink
  • Secretary – Will Hatfield

Council members, elected by the churches to a three-year term, make recommendations to the association to further its work and implement actions and policies of the association. Members of the Council of Eighteen welcome input from churches.Council18_Leads
