DES MOINES, Iowa—Conferees are arriving for a spiritually rich time at the 2019 GARBC Conference, June 25–28. Conference General Chairman Pastor David Strope, the local conference committee, and Conference Coordinator Andrea Gower have ensured that all is ready for a full program for all ages, nursery through retirement. Prayer by the GARBC staff and the Council of Eighteen has been an important part of the preconference preparation.

The conference will kick off on Tuesday evening with GARBC National Representative Mike Hess speaking on the conference theme, “Essence of Worship.” Joining Mike as conference speakers for the week are Mark Vroegop, Ross Shannon, Mike Augsburger, and Jon Jenks. Chad Hol will lead conferees in worship through song.

Association initiatives will be introduced to conferees, including church revitalization, a retirement program for pastors and church staff, scholarship opportunities for students, and “Soul Care” for pastors and wives.

An encouraging time of fellowship among conferees takes place at this annual event. At a preconference meeting of GARBC staff, Mike Hess expressed, “I want the GARBC Conference to be the highlight of the year for our churches—a positive time of great encouragement.”

All are welcome to attend the 7:00 p.m. sessions free of charge at the Holiday Inn Airport Hotel in Des Moines and to register onsite for daytime sessions.
