Bartz_inlineIt’s no surprise there was not an empty seat in the room for this workshop. The topic of homosexuality and same-sex attraction is everywhere and isn’t going away. Dr. Jeff Bartz of Grace Biblical Counseling was the workshop leader that tackled this tough topic.

He tactfully and compassionately walked through practical, Biblical principles to help Christians know how to handle these tough issues. Dr. Bartz shared how to develop relationships with those who struggle in the area of same-sex attraction and homosexuality, how to encourage them, and how to let them know you genuinely care about them as a person, as well as a few conversational dos and don’ts. He also said to remember the most important issue is a person’s relationship with Christ, not their sexual orientation.

When dealing with these tough issues, Dr. Barz focuses on 2 Timothy 2:24–26: “And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth, and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.”
